Indonesian Traffic

A couple of weeks ago we noticed a significant increase in traffic to certain Facebook content from a single country: Indonesia.

Indonesia is the No.1 Asian language on Facebook. When content at any specific URL starts to buzz, we will pick it up and start collecting the tweets associated with the content. For this specific content, it seems like, we were one of the first to have a page up that effectively directed users to the content. Users found us when searching for keywords associated with the content right away.

For this reason, and more simply because Indonesia ranks third in global volume of tweets after the US and Japan, we have made plans to build an Indonesian language page with rankings specific to the Indonesian language.

Update: The rankings for popular tweeted URLs for Indonesia are now up!

Twitturly en Español

We have had some requests for more language-specific tweet streams to supplement our general ranking tweets to twitturly (twitter account). The first of these is almost ready for deployment under twitturly_es, a twitter account devoted to top rankings for Spanish content. You may already find some test tweets there!

Twitturly Under New Management

Earlier this year, we purchased Twitturly with hopes of making improvements that users wanted to see. "We" are Mikle, a web services company headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. We are glad to announce that the migration is complete and although we hit some rough patches, Twitturly is stable and improvements are on their way.

I look forward to sharing our progress and our ideas for improvement via this blog.
